LIEU : la petite ville « bien tranquille » de SUNNYDALE.

ACTION : trucider des vilains vampires nocturnes.

DEVELOPPEMENT : Buffy est sans contexte, une jeune fille banale, que rien ne prédestinait qu’à des études studieuses et des flirts sans importance.

Mais voilà, elle est l’Elue sans le savoir, qui doit faire disparaître une multitude de vampires polymorphes qui eux, savent qu’elle constitue la principale atteinte à leur quiétude.

Teen-movies fantastique et « compussien », Buffy contre les vampires permet à une jeunesse en proie à ses fantasmes, de penser que le fantastique peut se développer au quotidien, et que chacun peut être amené à tout moment à sauver le monde, et sortir ainsi de l’anonymat. Rien de pire en effet pour un jeune qui cherche sa voie, que de se sentir ignoré et quelconque.

Buffy est convenablement construit, avec des monstres toujours très recherchés, et des effets spéciaux à la hauteur des ambitions.

Les saisons s’enchaînent, à l’image d’X-Files, au fil de l’intérêt grandissant des jeunes générations qui se succèdent.
